Dating from 1938, this PHOTAX BLINDE Black Bakelite camera was very futuristic for it's day. Made
in France it incorporated a screw action lens system ....

Dating from the 1940's, below appears a large Air Ministry Timer by
Smiths of England. Calibrated in seconds, with the inner clock set to minutes, this large chunk of working Bakelite proudly
sits on one of my kitchen walls and is used as an egg timer above the cooker !!! Wound and activated by a long string
pull ... the original use was for timing photographic development ... far better for eggs !!!!!!

Above appears a recent addition to this section, a 1953 Ilford Envoy camera, black bakelite, unusual styling, 120 film size.
Found on a local carboot for 50p !!!
From 1938 a superb near mint condition VP Twin Bloomed Bolco Lens Camera, complete with carrying case ... Black
Bakelite, this simple but effective snapshot camera was able to produce two images on one frame !! The VP stands for vest
pocket ... see the link below which will take you to a copy of the manual on the site belonging to Mr M Buktus in the
USA.
